Goodbye 2022 - Hello 2023!
Dec. 31st, 2022 09:07 pmI know I'm not around much these past few years but I still do think of everyone and try and stop by to read my flist about once every month or so.
Real life was super busy this year - my son graduated from Illinois Institute of Technology with an Architecture degree. After graduation, I taught him how to drive and July 16 he got his license. July 18 he started his new job with an architect firm in Chicago.
And one week later he tested positive for COVID for the first time. We'd done so well avoiding it but I suppose it was only a matter of time. I caught it from him and although he got over it in less than a week, I had problems for another four months with exhaustion and stomach problems. Thankfully I seem to be back to my normal self.
Along with having COVID in July, I had a mishap on my bike in March and ended up with a concussion and a broken rib. I have never been in so much pain! At least if I ever have to write a character who has a broken rib, I will know how to describe their pain.
So, here's to hoping for a healthy and happy 2023 for all my family and friends.
